Bishop Abed Boakye Asiamah, also known as Ajagurajah, the head of the Universal Spiritual Outreach, has explained why President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo travels the country with his own chair.

Bishop Asiamah asserts that the president doesn't move his chair around out of a sense of arrogance but rather for spiritual reasons.

"Just because our president brings his personal chair with him wherever he goes doesn't make him conceited. He moves with the chair because of spiritual reasons. I brought my own chair to UTV, why? I won't sit on a chair that everyone uses, he said in the United Showbiz  from Saturday, May 3, 2023, on UTV.

The president's instance was cited by the bishop to support his position that males should not have intercourse with women while they are menstruating.

According to the Bible, if a woman is having her period and sits in a chair, you will likewise be defiled for seven days if you do the same.

The famous presidential chair that President Akufo-Addo transports to engagements around the country has drawn harsh criticism.

The president's detractors claim that transporting the chair with Ghana's Coats of Arms on its crest rail in his advance convoy is a waste of the nation's resources.
