Possibly the youngest Deputy Minister in Africa is Hon.
Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.Mr. Okudzeto Ablakwa was appointed as the Republic of
Ghana's Deputy Minister of Information at the age of 28. He is Nuhela Seidu's
husband, and the two of them have a daughter.
He's known for being an enthusiastic young political
activist. He considers the general public to be his natural constituency and
loves to be associated with their cause.
He was a prolific writer, an author, and a member of
the pro-masses Committee for Joint Action (CJA).
He was also a part of the group that wrote the youth
policy for his party in the 2008 NDC campaign manifesto.
Prior to all of this, from 2005 to 2006, he presided
over the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS).
He began his career in national politics as a member
of the communication team for then-candidate John Evans Atta Mills. Prior to
being appointed as the Deputy Minister for Information, he was a member of the
Government's Transition Team.
In 2012, Hon. Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa ran for and was
elected to the legislature to represent the North Tongu Constituency.
