According to forbes.com, Messi plans to join Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia and cut short his potential time at Barcelona when he decides to leave Paris Saint Germain (PSG).The Argentine was suspended for two weeks from all team activities after traveling to Saudi to fulfill his duty as a travel ambassador without the permission of PSG's Qatari owners.

Messi had his game suspension shortened, with the league not wrapped up just yet for the French giants, needing at least another win from the final three games. The PSG frontman was docked two weeks' pay, which, according to Forbes, was around $2.5 million.

Last week, hundreds of PSG fans gathered outside the Parc De Prince to protest over the Messi saga and the stars' current form at the club. According to France24.com, PSG supporters chanted, "We're fed up with mercenaries! We must sack Messi; we must sack Nasser Al-Khelaifi!"

The chanting and protest came after a section of the PSG fans booed Messi for being a symbol of what the club has done wrong in focusing on superstar signings rather than building a competitive team. With the unrest caused by his recent actions, Lionel Messi could make a remarkable return to Barcelona, who are trying to convince La Liga they can make a potential deal if they shed millions off their wage bill. According to the Catalan radio station, 'Radioestadio Noche' Messi plans to stay at Barcelona for just a year before moving to Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Gazette reported that Al-Hilal had offered Messi $441 million a year to join them, putting him in the top spot as the highest-paid athlete on the planet.

Former teammates Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets wish to follow Messi and join him in Saudi Arabia. As well as that, every football fan in the world wants to see a Ronaldo and Messi showdown for one final time. Al-Hilal is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and is the most successful Asian team in history, winning 66 official trophies, including 18 league titles. They are the most recent champions of the Saudi Pro League, but this year have dropped off, sitting in fourth and two places behind Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr.

Fellow generational player Cristiano Ronaldo has made a giant impact in the league, scoring 12 goals in 13 Pro League appearances. Will he move to Saudi Arabia? Will he move back to Spain? If he does move to Al-Hilal, Messi knows the world will be watching to see who will have the greater impact in the Middle East.
